Bridge faces temporary closure

Llandrinio Bridge is expected to be closed for a chunk of next week so that vital work can be carried out.

The bridge has been struck at least once recently by motorists, and it means the council will need to carry out the parapet work to make it safe.

Local Councillor, Lucy Roberts, made the announcement while taking a swipe at the reckless motorist(s).

“I have just received notification that Llandrinio Bridge will be closed from the August 28-31 for parapet works,” she said.

“The application action is for a 24-hour closure so it may not be open at night but I’ll see if that can be negotiated. It’s a pity that those who damage the bridge don’t give more consideration to the impact on others and take more care.”

UPDATE: Cllr Roberts has updated this afternoon that a full closure will only be taking place on those days between 9am-5pm with a diversion route sign posted.
