Another local drugs arrest

Welshpool Police have continued their squeeze on the town's growing drugs problem by arresting a motorist.

Officers spotted the vehicle being driven erratically on the A483 near Pool Quay and the male driver subsequently failed a drugs wipe.

“He was stopped due to the manner of driving and rightly so as he failed a drugs wipe,” a spokesperson told us.

“He was extremely nervous and subject to stop-search including his vehicle. Drugs were found within so he was arrested and has since been released under investigation.”

Welshpool Police have made a number of arrests this year and urge the public to support their push against growing drug use in the town by ringing 101 if you have any information.
