We all know Welshpool is surrounded by some of the best walks in Wales, but one online holiday giant has rated us in the UK’s top 10 hiking destinations.
New data from HolidayLettings.co.uk, a TripAdvisor company, reveals Welshpool is among the UK’s best-rated destinations for hiking holidays.
And in a double boost for Powys, Brecon sits proudly in seventh with the two towns being the only Welsh entries on the list.
Describing Welshpool, the judges stated: “This pretty market town in Wales is famous for its elegant Georgian buildings, Montgomery Canal and the 17th-century Powis Castle and Gardens. It’s a great place to stay when you’re hiking in the region.”
The rankings analyse ratings and reviews, and show that Welshpool enjoys an average rental review score of 4.754 (out of 5.00).
In a blog post, Holiday Lettings told its millions of customers that: “You’ll find a wide array of rentals in the area, from log cabins to converted barns, so picking a place to stay is easy.”
Welshpool welcomes thousands of walkers every year visiting the Offa’s Dyke path that passes through the historic Beacon Ring (pictured) overlooking the town.
