Residents of the Welshpool area, particularly those living in and around Llanfair Caereinion and Llanfyllin, have been hit by a spate of shed thefts which have only come to light with the warmer weather.
The warmer weather has resulted in gardeners opening their sheds for the first time in several months and the thefts have been revealed.
A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesperson said: “Although not great in numbers, there has been a spate of thefts from sheds and outbuildings between the Llanfair rural area to the Llanrhaedr and Llansilin areas.
“Residents are asked to ensure that their items of value are secured so as to prevent these offences. Items that are being targeted include diesel, tools, strimmers, motorbikes and scrap metal.”
