Drugs find on Red Bank estate
Sources tell us that there was some sort of a traffic accident that led officers to conducting a search on the relatively new housing estate.
It is the latest in a growing list of successes for Welshpool Police who have reacted strongly to summer calls from residents for more to be done to clamp down on the town’s growing drugs trade.
“Officers were conducting enquiries at a location for an unrelated incident when they established sufficient grounds to suspect drugs offences were being committed and conducted a search of the address,” Sergeant Tom Marshall told us.
“During the search, a quantity of drugs was recovered. A suspect has been identified and has been questioned by officers.”
Welshpool has been targeted by drugs gangs as a lucrative town to trade in, but local police have fought back of late and appeal for anyone with information to call them on 101.
