Popular Welshpool man’s ‘accidental death’

 

The Powys Coroner has returned a verdict of ‘accidental death’ for a popular Welshpool man who died when a roof collapsed while carrying out repairs.

 

Tributes flooded in for Roger Jary, 78, after news of his tragic death on August 10 last year. The inquest heard that Mr Jary was carrying out work on a local car port roof when it collapsed and he fell onto the tarmac drive below.

 

Mr Jary was a much-loved and respected resident who had carried out decades of voluntary services and youth work in and around the town.
