Bands at the Dragon Saturday

Award winning musicians will be in Welshpool on Saturday night when Rapsquillion will be bringing their eclectic mix of music to the Green Dragon for the third “Corbyn Night” organised by Welshpool Labour Party.

Now in their 20th year, Rapsquillion said they used to “describe ourselves as a folk group” but with an eclectic mix of music which now travels from 15th Century frottola to 21st Century ‘protest’ and on the way calls in on parody, traditional music from around the world, 1940’s jazz and the chapel hymn book, “so we’re not sure what we are any more, other than a group of friends who enjoy spending time and making music together”.

Joining them on the bill is local guitarist and singer/songwriter Julian Stokes.

Although a gathering for the Labour Party, organisers promise no speeches with the evening getting underway at 8pm with a £5 charge on the door.
