Helping the homeless

A Welshpool business is rallying the town this Christmas to support its efforts to support those without a roof over their heads.

The Bay Tree Vintage Tea Rooms launched their campaign this week for the town to send them crucial items that can make a difference for the homeless.

They have teamed up with The Ark Shrewsbury, a charity that supports the homeless, and on Sunday a number of musicians will give their time for free to boost the campaign.

“We are collecting for the homeless this Christmas and will be donating to Ark in Shrewsbury Christmas week,” the business has announced. “So please donate gloves, clothing, food, socks, toiletries, animal treats, in fact anything you can help with.”

The items can be dropped off at the business on Church Street, or brought along to the gig on Sunday when a number of artists will perform between 3pm-8pm.

Line-up includes:

3pm:               John Hughes (pictured)/Louise Higginson-Fletcher with Neil Watkin on guitar

3.40pm:          John Snocken
4.20pm:          Michael Connolly
5pm:               Mave Mcmahon
5.40pm           The Odd Bods (Jenny Harris-White )
6.20pm           Vinegar Creek

7.20pm           Sonya Smith & Ian Smith
