Arrests after Welshpool drugs swoop

A car-stop followed by searches in at least two homes resulted in two people being arrested for intending to supply drugs last night.

Officers from the local Roads Policing Unit used what it calls were “pre-emptive tactics” to stop the car in Welshpool (pictured) with the driver failing a roadside drugs test. Class A drugs were found in the vehicle and two arrests were made following the home searches by officers from Welshpool and Newtown.

Superintendent Jon Cummins called it “great police work” adding that the operation disrupted those “causing harm to our communities”.
