Dairy farmers from across Wales are invited to a Milk Sector Road Show organised by NFU Cymru on Monday, April 11.
The meeting has been arranged for all NFU Cymru members with presentations given by Mansel Raymond, NFU Dairy Board Chairman and Hayley Campbell-Gibbons the NFU Chief Dairy Adviser.
It will take place at 7pm at Welshpool Livestock Sales, Buttington, finishing around 8.45pm with a buffet.
NFU Cymru Deputy President, Stephen James will chair the meeting, and said: “The purpose of NFU Cymru’s Milk Sector Road Show is to give our members an opportunity to contribute to what the Union is seeking to achieve in respect to the milk sector not least in terms of milk price.
“Our guest speakers will outline the current dairy market indicators and tell those present about the Union’s supply chain lobbying activities and priorities; report on our Cost of Production work; explain the on-going work and opportunity for better contracts and discuss the development of a strategy for the next decade.”
Local dairy farmer and Montgomeryshire County Vice-chairman, Jonathan Wilkinson, added: “We are very grateful to both Hayley Campbell-Gibbons and Mansel Raymond for agreeing to come and speak at the meeting. We are also grateful to Barclays Bank for sponsoring the event.”
