It was the issue that got Welshpool hot under the collar last month... and apologies for sending the pulses racing again this morning, but it was all for a bit of fun!

 

Dozens of you sms’d, emailed and posted messages on our Facebook wall after we announced this morning ‘exclusively’ that the direction of the town’s one-way system would have to be reversed in order to meet a “strict EU directive”.

 

And just to underline how many people are now visiting mywelshpool, the story was read a staggering 1,459 times before the midday April Fool cut-off.

But, just like many EU directives, it was all a load of rubbish, so don’t worry, the one-way system will continue to flow as normal.
