The Welshpool relatives of a missing Shrewsbury man have made a heartfelt appeal to mywelshpool readers to come forward if they have seen him.

 

Darren Flynn (pictured) –nicknamed Twiggy - has been missing for a week and the last possible sighting of the 30 year-old was Sunday morning (March 27) at 10.15am close to the old canal and river in Sundorne Road, Shrewsbury.

 

None of his belongings are missing and there is great concern for his well-being as his disappearance is completely out of character and he has never gone missing before.

 

Now local family members are widening the appeal and have asked people in the Welshpool area for help.

 

Cousin Hayley Hughes said: “We are all very worried. Darren has relatives in the Welshpool area so we are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.”

 

Police Constable Philippa Rogers, from Shrewsbury Police Station, said the man seen by the old canal appeared to fit Darren’s description and that he had been “distressed and crying” at the time.

 

“Both Darren’s family and the police are extremely concerned about his well-being and this concern only increases as the days pass without any contact,” she said.
