The company struck by an early morning fire that required five fire engines to attend has launched an investigation into the blaze.

A fire in a side-loader vehicle at SCA Timber Supply Welshpool, took up to 90 minutes to bring under control in the early hours of this morning (Monday), but despite smoke damage, the company says it is operating as normal.

Operations Director at SCA Timber Supply, Jonathan Bower, said: “We are pleased to report that we are able to continue operations from the site with minimal disruption and we are grateful to the help received from the local Fire Brigade in tackling this incident. SCA Timber Supply takes safety seriously and we are investigating the cause of this incident.”

The fire caused smoke damage within the factory where the vehicle was parked, including some light damage to computer equipment on the machinery.
