Flash event to help Rhys achieve his dreams

A fundraising event is being held next week towards making dreams come true for a youngster with muscular dystrophy.

Last year, we highlighted a story about local people pulling together to raise up to £10,000 for 12-year-old Rhys Jones, who has made himself a bucket list of challenges and activities.

The current fundraising stands at nearly £3,500 and next week (March 14) a coffee morning will be held at The Flash with money raised to be split between Rhys’s cause and Comic Relief.

Entry will be £2.50 and it includes a tea or coffee. There will also be several other activities.

Rhys is the nephew of Warren who comes from Newtown but is well known in the Welshpool area where his partner Leanne Davies lives.

“One of the things Rhys would love to do is swim with dolphins, another is to watch his beloved Liverpool play along with loads of other things,” said Warren.

“Any donation will be massively appreciated by myself and Gideon to making his dreams come true.”
