Welshpool wins in Westminster
The Town Council’s Street Scene and Environmental Services, responsible for keeping the town clean and tidy, has won bronze at the national awards that sees over 200 councils vying for nine awards.
“Welshpool was recognised for its achievements in the delivery of services in a different way giving better value for money and at a high standard,” said Robert Robinson (pictured right with the Mayor).
“The Awards were all about transformation of services in a difficult time – all the councils on the shortlists were the top of their tree and were doing something a little different.”
Welshpool finished third behind East Ayrshire Borough Council (Scotland) and Folkestone and Hythe Borough Council in Kent.
