Night work ceases this weekend

Residents on Salop Road complaining of sleepless nights this week will be glad to hear that overnight work on the one-way system will stop for two nights this weekend.

Night closures have been in place since Tuesday to allow workers to crack on, but it caused disruptions to residents living along the route.

However, it has been confirmed that the road will not be closed Saturday and Sunday nights, but work will still continue tonight (Friday).

“There are no anticipated noisy works this evening,” a spokesperson told us.

Meanwhile, for Sunday morning only, HGV lorries will not be able to turn right into Mill Lane from Church Bank and they will be diverted into Church Street/Severn Street from Brook Street to gain access to the bypass.

A further update will be released on Monday.
