Garden waste collections price slashed

16/07/2019 @ 12:33

Powys County Council has slashed the price of its green waste collections by 30%, in a bid to get more signed up to the service that runs until November.

The new collection has proved popular, with more than 7,400 households signing up, and it is hoped that this price reduction will encourage more to try it out.

The 240-litre garden waste bin (previously £35) will be £25 and the 120-litre bin (previously (£30) is now £20.

Residents who subscribe to the service will receive a new bin and kerbside collections every fortnight through to November.

To subscribe, visit www.powys.gov.uk/gardenwaste or telephone 01597 827465

Adrian Jervis, the council’s Head of Highways, Transport and Recycling, said: “We have sold over 7,400 garden waste bins since we introduced this new service. Now that the growing season is really upon us, we are offering an added incentive to give the service a go.”
