Two-way traffic at midnight

Two-way traffic will start flowing on Brook Street at midnight on Saturday.

Staff from Welsh Trunk Road Agency, Powys County Council and Griffiths & Co contractors will be on hand to ensure a smooth transition for motorists and pedestrians.

Following a meeting today between officers and county and town councillors it was also confirmed that delays can be expected from 6pm on Saturday for additional white lining to take place.

The new Zebra crossing on Broad Street will also become operational by midnight on Saturday though work in Church Street with the junction of Puzzle Square will not be completed until Monday.

It was also confirmed that work to take out the traffic island at the Mill Lane junction outside The Westwood Park Hotel will take place on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

Large volumes of holiday traffic are again causing problems in the town today with the contractors working hard to achieve the Saturday night deadline.
