Funding advice event for community groups

A funding advice event aimed at community groups to promote what opportunities are available will be hosted in Welshpool by local Assembly Member, Russell George, this week.

Taking place at the Town Hall on Friday from 10am-12pm, a number of funding bodies will make short presentations and also be available for one-to-one meetings.

Sport Wales, the Heritage Fund, the Arts Council for Wales, the National Lottery Community Fund, Community Foundation Wales and the Powys Association for Voluntary Organisations are among the organisations that will be available.

Mr George said: “I’m looking forward to hosting this funding advice day next week for community groups across Montgomeryshire to learn more about the funding options which are available to them.

“Some community and voluntary groups don’t realise what funding is available so this is a perfect opportunity to meet with a range of funders including Sport Wales, the Heritage Fund, the Arts Council for Wales, the National Lottery Community Fund, Community Foundation Wales and the Powys Association for Voluntary Organisations.

“The event is totally free, and is available for anyone to attend. The presentations will begin at 10am and there is no need to pre-register so please feel free to drop in for any funding advice which you require to support your group.”
