Leighton to kick off Christmas

Leighton will be launching its Winter Wonderland on Friday at Holy Trinity Church which is being transformed into a spectacular silvery scene.

The beautifully ornate Victorian church and grounds will be decorated with winter arrangements with a concert starring The Castle Belles with supporting artists from 7.30pm.

Tickets are £8 to include a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie and they can be purchased by calling 01938 552833, or on the door.

The celebrations continue with the church being open to all and welcoming visitors from 11am-3pm on both Saturday and Sunday. The event closes with a traditional Carol Service starting at 6pm on Sunday.

“The celebrations are a joint venture between Leighton Church and Leighton Village Hall and have involved a small army of volunteers to whom we are very grateful,” said a spokesperson.
