‘Uplifting’ news from The Flash

11/12/2019 @ 01:36

There is some good news for users of The Flash, after its managing company confirmed that one of its ongoing problems has been fixed.

The leisure centre’s exterior lift has been out of service for some time since a customer became stuck, and it resulted in the hall’s doors being left wide open all day and evening to allow alternative access.

Last week, kids taking part in gymnastics lessons could be seen shivering due to the temperatures plummeting outside.

But a spokesperson for Freedom Leisure, who run the facility on the County Council’s behalf, said that the problem has been fixed.

“The lift at the Flash Leisure Centre is being addressed by Powys County Council (PCC) and ourselves,” said a spokesperson.

“Once the lift is repaired we will no longer require public to access the leisure centre through the sports hall and the hall temperature can revert to its required operating levels.”

This week the hall’s doors have remained closed and temperatures in the hall have been returned to normal.

It’s been a tough week for Freedom Leisure who have had to concede that the artificial pitch will be out of order for several more months and then they faced a wave of criticism for hiking the price of children’s swimming lessons, making them 13% more expensive than they were in December 2018.
