Friends rally round following sad news from Down Under

Friends have come out in support for a Welshpool woman, now living in Australia, who was told on Christmas Day that her two-year-old daughter has stage-4 Neuroblastoma.

Little Aria Lee Hawley (pictured) is the pride and joy of Stef Howard and Josh Hawley, and she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma whilst other families were settling down to the best day of the year.

All patients with Stage 4 of the disease that are diagnosed after one year of age are classified in the high risk category, and treatment will be intensive for the toddler with Chemotherapy over the next 12+ months, followed by Radiotherapy.

But Stef’s mother, Christine, has started a page so that people can donate money to ease the family’s financial burden and last night it had raised £7,500.

“We are raising money for Stef and Josh to support them and relieve some of the burden they are facing over the next period of months and years,” said Christine.

“All monies raised will enable full support for on-going costs to give Aria the best possible care and treatment during this prolonged and difficult battle.”
Friends are also supporting the young family by arranging fund raising activities with Kayley Jones informing us that a clothes sale will be arranged for February.

“We are going to hold a clothes sale to help raise money for the family,” said Kayley. “Basically, we are asking for donations of men’s, women’s and children’s/babies clothes.

“We will then have a clothes sale (date TBC) and all money raised will go to the family via the ‘Go Fund Me’ page.”

Kayley said they will also be accepting prizes for a raffle.
