Canal Triathlon spots filling fast

12/02/2020 @ 12:39

The Montgomery Canal Triathlon is growing in popularity, and is just one of a number of events being organised over the coming months to raise funds and awareness for the spectacular waterway.

It takes place on May 2 and consists of a 17-mile bike, 11-mile walk and seven-mile canoe. Participants can take part in each discipline only or if they are feeling energetic, they can take part in all three (35 miles)!

Entries will close on April 18 and you can access the entry form here.

Meanwhile, the Friends of the Montgomery Canal AGM will take place on Saturday, February 29, with non-members welcome. It will be held at 3pm in Berriew Village Hall with a talk to follow the meeting.

The Friends of the Montgomery Canal St David’s Day Walk on the following day (March 1), starts from Coed y Dinas nature reserve at 10am. To book a spot on the five-mile walk, let Christine know at christinepalin@btinternet.com.

The Montgomery Canal Forum will be held at the Welshpool Corn Exchange in the Town Hall at 2.30pm on Monday, April 27.
