Mini-moto seized in nuisance clamp down

12/05/2011 @ 01:28

Police have seized a mini-moto from a group of youngsters who were reportedly causing a nuisance in the town centre.

As part of its community priorities, police have vowed to clamp down on anti-social behaviour and reacted to complaints from the public on Sunday and Monday. As a result, officers seized a mini-moto from an adult and a teenager.

A police spokesperson said: “These sort of bikes should only be used on private land with the permission of the landowner or they are likely to be seized by the Police and the offender will be prosecuted.

“If they are used on the roads then the road traffic act does apply and the users will need a driving licence, insurance, MOT, tax and will need to be wearing a helmet. They will also incur garaging costs which start off at £150 pounds for the first day if the bike/vehicle is seized.

“This is is another example that the community will accept anti-social behaviour.”

All suspicious activities should be reported to Dyfed-Powys Police on the non-emergency number of 101.
