The chaos caused by the weather is expected to continue today as fire fighters experienced another busy night of rescuing people from trapped cars.

Specialist crews from Welshpool (pictured from their Twitter account) were busy throughout the night as calls came in to free people after drivers tried their luck, but failed. Last night both Llanfair Caereinion and Montgomery fire fighters were also called upon.

It has brought outrage from readers, with some calling for those rescued to be charged, and the fire stations reissued the warnings to stay away from flood water wherever it may be.

By 6.45am, no schools had closed, but parents are advised to double check with their school before sending children in with the picture changing by the minute.

Drivers in the early morning have reported slightly better local road conditions and with a relatively dry day there is hope that some sort of normality will return in the next 24 hours.
