"Stop risking lives by driving through floods"

Fire crews have twice had to rescue drivers from cars on Welshpool Airport straight this morning.

The service received two early morning calls to the Forden-Welshpool stretch of road with drivers continuing to ignore “road closed” signs and risk lives by attempting to drive through the floods.

The River Severn has burst its banks yet again with the stretch of road closed for the umpteenth time in the last six months.

The message from the emergency services is clear – “Do not ignore road closed signs”.
