Warning of more floods

08/03/2020 @ 06:37

We’re not done with the flood season yet, with Montgomeryshire bracing itself for a fifth consecutive week of heavy rainfall today.

Storms have smashed into our area over the past four weekends, and while it may be a day later than usual, this week’s wet front is set to drive through the Welshpool area later on.

A Met Office weather warning was issued for large parts of Wales for today and tomorrow, with the ‘middle east’ (Welshpool area) set to be in the firing line once again.

Some higher areas of Mid Wales may see between 60 to 90mm (2.4 to 3.5in) of rain which will once again find its way into the River Severn and other local rivers, leaving us open to flooding once again.

The warning will start from 3pm today and remain in place until midday tomorrow.
