Our local police force has issued the most amount of Covid-19 fines in Wales, it has been revealed.
A total of 123 fines have been issued by Dyfed-Powys Police over the past month since strict Government restrictions on travel were introduced.
The force lies eighth in the whole of the UK, with seven English forces, particularly those closer to seaside resorts, clocking up more fines. Lancashire was top with 380 fines issued
Check points have been set up outside both Welshpool and Newtown to carry out checks, and police cars have also been spotted weaving through country lanes to try and catch out those attempting to by-pass the main roads.
