Day-tripping learner biker fined after crash

A day-tripping motorcyclist from the Midlands on learner plates was involved in a collision with an essential journey car user on Sunday afternoon at a traffic blackspot near Trewern, it has been revealed.

According to Newtown Roads Policing Unit, who took the picture, the inexperienced learner rider and two other riders were all given fixed penalties for breaching Covid-19 restrictions that were brought in to stop the spread of the virus. There were no injuries reported.

Meanwhile, police have been monitoring traffic in Middletown over the past few days following reports of increased speeds.

The Newtown Roads Policing Unit said that one was recorded doing 56mph in a 40mph zone.
