Extra police and dogs on the scene

Extra police and dog teams from North Wales and West Mercia have now joined in the hunt for the missing bank robbers at Welshpool.

Around 30 officers are now scouring The Rhallt area of Welshpool as the search is stepped up in failing light.

With one man already in custody police are keen to arrest the other two tonight and have stepped up the activity with a helicopter hovering overhead after re-fueling.

Our man remains with the hunt and reports that the police have issued a warning that no-one should approach anyone suspicious. Anyone looking suspicious should be reported to the police on 999.

An hour ago police were seen to discvover a bag from a tree which is belived to have contained the cash stolen from the Barclays Bank branch at Machynlleth this afternoon.
