Angry Iolo blasts lockdown litter louts

Springwatch presenter Iolo Williams has been promoting the local area to millions of BBC viewers over the past week, so he didn’t hold back when he discovered how some fellow residents are treating our beauty spots.

Iolo posted a video of himself last night on Twitter during his run along the Montgomery canal, and said that “you can tell that lockdown is coming to an end because look at this”.

The visibly angry naturalist then shows a handful of plastic waste that he had picked up and said he had put plenty more in the bin before raging” This is not acceptable!”

He went on: “For those of you that are hard of understanding, take your litter home! This really gets my goat. Once more: Take your litter home!”

The video has already been watched almost 50,000 times with followers coming out in support with more than 1,100 retweets.

Iolo doesn’t hold back on Twitter and has had county councils firmly in his sights over their spring grass and hedge cutting work, but he has also been quick to praise those that have listened to the pleas to not be so over-zealous and let areas grow.
