The Office of National Statistics has reported that two more Powys residents have sadly died from Covid-19 over the latest seven-day period that they have published
The deaths take the total number to 91 Powys residents that have died since the start of the pandemic in March here. Up from 89 reported a week ago.
The figure includes those whose deaths were registered up until June 12 that had Covid-19 mentioned on their death certificates by a doctor. It may have meant they were only suffering from symptoms and may not have been tested. Most have died in hospital or at nursing homes.
There have been promising signs recently that Powys is on the road to recovery from the deadly virus that has swept the world.
The county recorded its first positive test yesterday since June 12, but this figure does not include those who may have tested positive using home kits or the Government’s track and trace scheme.
