Police have arrested a second man in connection with the snatch raid at Barclays Bank in Machynlleth on Thursday.
Following a joint operation with West Midlands Police, Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed that a 26-year old man from the Birmingham area has been arrested on suspicion of committing robbery jointly with others and is currently in police custody.
Yesterday (Saturday) a 24-year old man from the Birmingham area, caught during a massive Thursday manhunt on the Rhallt, appeared in Brecon Magistrates Court and was remanded to custody to reappear on May 27. Police continue their hunt for one other suspect, a white man, in his 20’s.
"We still have officers searching for the third man.” said Detective Chief Inspector Shane Williams.
Anyone with information that could help the investigation is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Meanwhile, Dyfed-Powys Police has again asked mywelshpool to thank members of the Newtown and Welshpool communities for their help in the manhunt and to reassure the public that offences of this nature are extremely rare in this area.
