Guilsfield to host virtual show

Guilsfield Show has become the latest event to take its competitions online after the summer show season was wiped out to avoid the spread of Covid-19.

It is only the second time that the popular show has been cancelled since 1968, but organisers have tailored 16 competitions to be held online, with scores of entries already pouring in.

There are no entry fees and rosettes will be presented for 1st-3rd places in class. There is also a championship for the individual with the most points across all classes.

“We have tried to think of classes for every age group,” said a spokesperson. “So please join in and enter as many classes as you can. Entries are open and close on August 1 at 8pm. We are looking forward to seeing the photos you send to us.”

Organisers have promised that the physical show will return on August 12, 2021.
