COWSHACC to stay closed until September

One of Welshpool’s community hubs has announced that it will remain closed until September 1.

The Welsh Government is allowing community centres to open their doors on Monday, but one in Welshpool has decided to take a more cautious approach to stop the spread of Covid-19.

The 1st Clives Own Welshpool Scout Headquarters & Community Centre (COWSHACC) has decided to remain closed through the summer holidays, opening its doors instead on September 1. It has, however, been operating throughout lockdown as a blood donation hub for the area.

In a statement, the facility announced: “The time period between now and then will allow us to prepare the building properly and ensure all safety measures are in place.

“We are very much looking forward to welcoming all our centre users old and new back again!

“Thank you for the continued support and patience.”
