Powis Castle half term activities

27/05/2011 @ 04:05

Powis Castle and Garden invites children of all ages to join their half term fun.

From tomorrow (Saturday) until Sunday, June 5 (closed on Tuesday), the castle will hold activities to suit all the family from  cracking a code to save the King on the new Stewart Trail, to pond-dipping, mini-beast hunting and meeting Shaun the Sheep.

Children’s Trails
The Stewart Challenge will thrill families who love to treasure hunt and answer clues. A mission will be handed out, set in 1688, to support the King against his enemies. Can you solve the clues around the garden and find a safe place for the King? Normal entry charges apply plus 50p per trail.

Outdoor Guided Nature Activity
For those who love the great outdoors, there is a chance to explore ponds and scurry through the undergrowth. For 90 minutes at 11.30am and 2.30pm on Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd June children will be guided through Powis Gardens with microscopes and nets to see what’s about. Normal entry charges apply plus £2 per child (under 16). Children must be accompanied by an adult, max 2 children to each adult. Limited numbers. Booking essential on 01938 551929.

Shaun the Sheep
On Friday June 3, Shaun the Sheep will be with his friends on the Croquet Lawn. Bring the children down to meet their favourite BBC characters and pose for pictures in the stunning gardens.
