Covid-19 case confirmed at Welshpool High School

12/10/2020 @ 07:25

Welshpool High School has confirmed this evening that a pupil has tested positive for Covid-19.

On Twitter this evening, the school said that “pupils in Year 8, and those travelling on the small 224 Owens Penrhos bus are asked to stay home tomorrow (October 13) and await further correspondence”.

“Important information has been sent via the InTouch system. All necessary steps are being taken in line with the Welsh Government, Local Authority and Environmental Health guidelines to keep everyone safe,” the school tweeted.

Last month, 78 pupils and one member of staff at Ysgol Llanfyllin were told to self-isolate for 14 days after a Year 10 pupil tested positive for Covid-19.

Five new cases were confirmed for the whole of Powys over the past 24 hours, but authorities are still not releasing more localised figures for Montgomeryshire.
