Community backs Meals On Wheels

Welshpool businesses have come out in support of Welshpool’s tremendous Meals on Wheels service which has proven to be a lifeline for so many people this year.

Thanks to donations from Welshpool Community Angels, Tesco, Morrison’s, Apple Green Garage, Ponthafren and the Rotary Club, bumper hampers have been prepared for users of the service.

“We at Welshpool Town Council have had a number of very kind and generous donations to go towards the Meals On Wheels hamper,” a spokesperson said.

“It was decided that all our Meals On Wheels customers would receive a hamper, with non-perishable foods and some treats for Christmas.”

Recently the town council reassured the area that the service would continue despite the closure of the Day Centre in town.
