MBE for Welshpool’s former Town Clerk

30/12/2020 @ 11:36

Welshpool’s former Town Clerk Robert Robinson has been awarded with an MBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List.

Mr Robinson (pictured) retired from his role last year after 13 years in the hot seat, and is also a volunteer with the Llanfair & Welshpool Steam Railway.

On a list full of NHS staff and frontline workers in recognition of the heroic work carried out throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, Mr Robinson is one of the exceptions, receiving his honour for “public and voluntary service”.

Elsewhere for Montgomeryshire, Medals of the Order of the British Empire (BEM) were presented to Jeanne Olive Nuttall, from Llanidloes, who is Head of Service Nutrition and Dietetics at the Powys Teaching Health Board Trust, and Catherine Knapp-Evans, from Caersws, for services to the Arts and to the community in Mid Wales.
