Chair re-elected in Llanfair

Llanfair Caereinion Town Council has re-elected Cllr Wyn Williams as its Chair and introduced a new management structure with two new working committees.

Cllr Williams will once again have Cllr Ian Davies as his Vice Chair, following his re-election too.

A Council Services Committee has ben created to look after the council services and property with Cllrs Rob Astley, Hazel Davies, Cadvan Evans, Viola Evans, Geraint Peate, K Roberts and Ceri Stephens elected to serve.

The new Finance, Planning and General Purposes Committee will handle financial matters, planning, development and all other matters affecting the Council. Elected to serve were Cllrs Williams, Davies, U. Griffiths and Gareth Jones. 

Meanwhile, the town council confirmed that only one nomination was received for the vacant seat on the council so Richard Derricutt, from Pool Road, was elected unopposed.

The Council has also written to the Heritage Officer at Powys County Council seeking consideration of listing the old Mizen Hut near Heniarth.
