29/06/2011 @ 12:35

Only Welshpool's Oldford Junior and Primary School will be closed tomorrow during a one day strike by teaching unions, according to Powys County Council.

All other schools in the town will be unaffected by the strike action which is partially closing Caereinion High School in Llanfair Caereinion, Llangedwyn Primary School and Penrhos Primary School. Caereinion will be open to years 10 and 12, according to the county council.

In Newtown, Ladywell Green, Maesyrhandir and Penygloddfa junior and primary schools will close, while Llanidloes High School will also close to students.

Thirty schools throughout Powys will either close or be partially open tomorrow as teachers protest at government cuts and job losses. Further strikes are expected before the end of term.
