‘We’ve run out of beer!’
But The Old Bakehouse’s enforced day off is nothing to do with the national lunacy, it has simply been inundated with punters since opening its doors for the first time on Friday lunch time.
Tonight, the micro pub, which specialises in real ales as well a number of independently sourced ciders, wines and spirits, issued a statement to customers.
Whilst saying they were “shocked and thrilled by how wonderful you have all been to us”, the Old Bakehouse explained: “We will not be open this Monday (September 27).
“You were all so thirsty that we used our two weeks supply of beer in two days! We can get beer in but like us the beer needs to chill. Thank-you again for your support.”
The pub went on to state that they will be reassessing opening hours after admitting it has been a “very fast learning experience”.
