Thumbs up for new playground

The new playground at Maes y Dre opened at the weekend and received glowing endorsements from the town’s youngsters.

After the official business was carried out by the Town Mayor on Friday, the kids were let loose on the £45,000 facility which has increased in size from the previous playground.

One youngster that we spoke to said it was “fantastic”. The facility is part of a scheme by the town council to create and upgrade playground facilities in the town.

Joining Mayor Cllr Estelle Bleivas at the opening were Cllrs Roger Brown, Hazel Evans, John Meredith (deputy Mayor), Dr John Morgan and Anne Holloway along with former Town Mayor Tegwyn Evans (background).
