Welshpool WI turns 90!

There was an impressive birthday celebrated in Welshpool at the weekend with the town’s Women’s Institute (WI) turning 90!

The milestone was marked by a meal at The Raven with the anniversary cake made by long time member, Mrs Eileen Hailstone.

“Welshpool WI is always happy to welcome new members,” said a spokesperson. “You don't have to be good at crafting but if you fancy an afternoon with a great bunch of ladies with speakers covering a variety of topics, outings and loads of friendship and support then please come along and join us.”

The group meets at Welshpool Methodist Church School Room on the second Friday of each month from 2pm.
