Maesydre school report could be ‘disappointing’

11/07/2011 @ 08:31

Parents of children who attend Maesydre Primary School are being warned to expect a disappointing school inspectors report on Tuesday.

While the contents of the report are a closely guarded secret until officially released, mywelshpool, which has also not seen the report yet, understands that some parents have already been informed to brace themselves for a stinker and we have also received unofficial notification of the same from within the education system.

Our source told us: “While the details will be revealed on Tuesday, the contents will disappoint many parents.”

One pupil’s parent told us that she had spoken to both a governor and a teacher who told her the report would cause concern.

“If this is the case then it would be such a shame because all the teachers work so hard down there and are very popular,” she said: “I am happy with the education provided to my daughter at Maes y Dre but I am guessing there will be action points from the report which the school will have to address.”

Only last month, Gungrog School, one of three pre-Primary schools in the town, had a disappointing inspectors' report but has reacted quickly to implement an action plan of improvements. In 2005, Maes y Dre’s last report drew praise from the inspectors.

Mywelshpool will post up the Maesydre report as soon as we receive it tomorrow for parents to read.
