Oldford Fun Run!

A huge Fun Run and family picnic is being organised by Oldford Communities First to promote health awareness in the town.

The event will take place on August 6 in the ground just inside the Park Lane entrance to Powis Estates Grounds with registration at 11am and the run starting at noon. The run will be followed by a picnic in the park

The Fun Run has two routes – a gentle 1km route which is accessible for all including buggies and wheelchairs and a slightly more challenging 3km route.

Whilst called a ‘fun run’, everyone is invited to take part even if they wish to walk. Every participant who completes the route gets a medal and certificate.

The reinfoirce the health and community messages, those present on the will include: Cardiac Nurses, Diabetes Nurse, Respiratory Nurse, Incontinence Nurse, British Heart Foundation, Pulse, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue, Pont Hafren, Kaleidoscope (formally Powys Drug and Alcohol Centre)

Each participant will receive a voucher for the picnic with further activities provided by the Oldford Active Community Group. People are advised to bring their own picnic blanket or chairs.
