Councillor Alison Davies (pictured) has been re-elected to serve a second year as Welshpool Mayor.
She was handed the second term in office following last night’s annual meeting of Welshpool Town Council, where she won a vote by 7-5 against Cllr Hazel Evans.
Cllr Evans was then nominated for Deputy, but lost that vote 7-5 to Cllr Carol Robinson.
The town is invited to attend Sunday’s Mayor’s parade and Civic Service, which will leave the Town Hall at 10.40am, travel down Broad Street to Church Street, and on to St Mary’s Church where there will be a service at 11am.
After the service, the parade will then march back to Welshpool Town Hall.
