Trail run and a fun packed Guilsfield show

08/08/2022 @ 08:27

Guilsfield Show will launch its post-Covid era this week with a trail run and a fun packed day out as it continues to build a reputation as one the area’s top summer events.

The action gets underway on Wednesday evening with the 5km trail run which will go through the woods close to the village, with a start from between the two pubs at 6.30pm. A children’s race for under 14s will start around 6pm (one lap of the field).

Registration for both runs can be done on the night, but you can also register for the adult’s run beforehand through https://forms.gle/iESgYMig7KTu7Svu7.

The main show is on Thursday with organisers promising “there really is something for everyone”.

“From horses, dogs, sheep, classic cars and tractors, arts and crafts, horticulture, cookery and more - entries are still open for most classes so if you are looking for something to do during the summer holidays why not get involved?” a spokesperson told us.

The main ring will host a variety of events all day, including children’s events and races in the afternoon.

The last show before Covid saw the popular addition of an evening music festival and this year local choir, Castle Belles, kick off the evening followed by Funkomatic, who will play until 9pm.

Guilsfield Show presidents for this year are John and Sally Jones who have nominated the RJAH Orthopaedic League of Friends (Welshpool branch) and the Lingen Davies Cancer Fund as their chosen charities.

Entry to the show is £6 for adults, £2 for children and £12 for a family of 4. Gates open at 9am.
