Tit-illating fund raiser

Welshpool has proved it can keep a-breast of the latest fund raising ideas, by launching a unique appeal for ladies bras!

The town’s fire fighters have teamed up with Marie Curie for their next period of fundraising and it will start this month with the bizarre appeal.

Ladies of the area are invited to bring in their old bras to be strung up from the fire station to the town centre on August 27 for a special day of fundraising. Ladies are asked to donate £1 per bra which will go towards Marie Curie. In a double fund raising boost, the bras will then be donated to BreastTalk who will receive money for them, so two charities will benefit.

“We are delighted to be working with the fire fighters who have chosen us to be their charity for the next year and this is certainly one very unique idea to get things going!” said Kaye Derwas from Marie Curie.

Bras are already being taken at several collection points - Welshpool Firestation, Derwas of Welshpool (Henfaes Lane), Welshpool Tourist Information Centre, or contact Kaye for collection on 07834 539260. In Newtown, they can be donated at Humphreys & Foulkes and Morgan-Griffiths Accountants.
