Children will be able to access Powis Castle for free under a new promotion being run by the National Trust until August 26.

And there’s more good news because the offer extends to all National Trust properties across England, Wales and Northern Ireland with the promise of a summer of fun for children and parents – whatever the weather!

One paying adult can take two children free (aged five to 16 – under-fives allowed in free at all times) to all the National Trust’s castles and mansions, gardens and historic sites (except Cilgerran and Aberdeunant). But particularly of interest to local people will be the incredible 800 year-old Powis Castle.

Parents must ensure that they download a voucher from the National Trust website and hand it to the admissions desk when they visit a property.

The special Kids Go Free voucher can be found at: www.nationaltrust.org.uk/wales
